The Blue Ridge Chapter serves approximately 2,900 people that have been diagnosed with MS. Including their families, friends, and employers or caretakers, over 20,000 people in our area are affected by MS every day. Day by day, step by step, YOU make the difference in the lives of people with multiple sclerosis. Won't you join us at one of our walks?
Walk Sites
Bristol, Charlottesville, Culpeper, Farmville, Harrisonburg, Lynchburg, Martinsville, New River Valley, Roanoke, Waynesboro, and Winchester.
Check-in and on-site registration begins one hour before the walk. Turn in your collected contributions and sign the waiver on your pledge envelope. You can also send in your contributions prior to the walk.
Route
There are rest stops available along each route, stocked with healthy, high-energy snacks and drinks. Roads will NOT be closed to vehicular traffic. Please respect the law and motorists. Route maps will be available at check-in or on our website.
Super Support
As with all MS Society events, your day will be filled with pampering, food and great fun! The greatest volunteers in the business will provide support.
Food
Lunch will be served at every walk site. You will also receive energizing snacks at each rest stop.
Medical
Medical support personnel will be available at all times. Hospitals and rescue squads are informed of the event and will be ready to meet emergency medical needs.
SAGs (Support and Gear Vehicles)
Support and Gear vehicles are driven by volunteers who patrol the routes back and forth between rest stops. SAGs will transport participants to a rest stop if medical attention is needed or if you’re just plain tired!
Participants Under 18
All participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, aged 21 years or older. The adult must stay with the participating minor on the route at all times. If the minor is transported by a SAG, an adult must accompany him/her. In addition, a parental/guardian authorization is required before any minor may participate.
Waiver
All walkers must sign a waiver form. The waiver is found on the pledge envelope. |
